Get started without writing code

If you can edit the header HTML of your site, you can install Motif. A marketing site does not need identify or custom events.

1. Copy the snippet from Motif

Sign in and open Websites. Add your domain. Copy the tag that Motif shows. The tag looks like this, with your real id in place of WEBSITE_ID:

2. Paste it on every public page

Put the tag in the document head or immediately before the closing body tag.
Make sure the tag runs on the first page that a visitor opens, not only on a thank-you page.
Save and publish the site. Most site builders have a Header / custom code box.

3. Confirm a pageview

Open your live site in a new tab. Then go back to Websites. If an event arrived in the last five minutes, Motif shows a live ping. That ping is a pageview.

4. Connect Stripe

On Websites, connect the Stripe account that charges your customers. Motif reads checkout, invoices, refunds, and churn through Stripe Connect. The tracker never sends a payment amount.
